About Crystal
Crystal graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science Degree (Major in Environmental Science). While at Western, she played four years of Division 1 golf (Sunbelt Conference), playing in every tournament while there and serving as the Team Captain during her Junior and Senior year. As a freshman, Crystal made the All-Conference team and had many top five and top ten finishes throughout her collegiate career.
After graduation, Crystal was awarded the opportunity to begin her professional career at The Legends of Indiana. She entered the PGA program and worked 2 seasons at The Legends while traveling to Palm Desert, California to work in the business during the cold winter months. In the second year of her career, Crystal decided to make California her permanent residence and worked at The Lakes Country Club (Palm Desert) for 9 seasons as an Assistant Golf Professional, earning her PGA credentials in 2009. While at The Lakes, she was fortunate enough to be able to play golf with and learn from LPGA tour player, Nicole Castrale and 1969 Masters Champion, Bob Goalby. Along with playing, Crystal also honed her craft of teaching and developed her own philosophy and style of teaching while giving 1oo’s of lessons and helping students enjoy the game. After 9 seasons, Crystal had another wonderful opportunity to become Lead Golf Instructor at The Club at Morningside in Rancho Mirage. While there, she was able to advance her teaching skills under Director of Golf David Hunter while helping establish The Morningside Golf Academy. Crystal and her husband, Jim moved back to Greenwood in 2015 to raise their two young children, Carson (5) and Cali (3). In 2016 Crystal got the opportunity to become the Golf Coach for the Whiteland High School girl’s golf team. In 2017 she became the PGA Director of Player Development at The Legends Golf Club and in October of 2018, Crystal gladly accepted the role of Head Golf Professional at The Legends. |
Crystal's teaching philosophy is built around developing the entire player with a focus on fundamentals, short game and course management. Each student can be confident that they will receive a unique, constructive lesson experience catered to their specific goals.
